FASC APPLICATION/QUALIFICATION PROCESS

New Owner & Transfer Requests Instructions

The process to become a FASC is fairly simple and straight-forward.

NOTE: You may apply 10-30 business days prior to opening a new store or transferring an existing account. If the FASC account is approved, but not used within 30 business days, it will be closed for inactivity.

New Account Requests:
  1. Call the FASC department at 1-800-496-9310 option 3 to request the account. Upon completing the Introduction, you will then complete the Qualification Process. Be sure to state one the following: “I am starting a new store.” or “I am purchasing an existing pack-and-ship store”.
  2. Once you receive your FedEx account number, go to www.FASCnet.com This site is specifically for FASC account holders and requires you to apply for FASC status by providing your FedEx Express account number along with all relevant store information.
  3. Follow all steps of the application/qualification process and submit the application.
  4. You will receive an email notifying you when your FASC status has been approved.
  5. If the FASC account is not used within 30 business days, it will be closed for inactivity.

Transfer Account Requests:
  1. Call the FASC department at 1-800-496-9310 option 3 to request the account. Be sure to notify them you are purchasing an existing location and would like a transfer of the account. (You will receive a new FedEx account but it will have the same discounts the current member is receiving unless they are on lower Tier levels than the following: Tier 4 – FedEx Express and Tier 3 – FedEx Ground)
  2. Once the account has been issued, you will go to www.FASCnet.com and apply for the FASC account.
  3. Upon completing the Introduction, you will then complete the Qualification Process. Be sure to state the following: I am purchasing an existing pack-and-ship store.
  4. The new owner can choose to get a new bar code scanner, but it is not necessary as it is store specific. The only reason the new owner would want to get a new barcode scanner would be if the old one is damaged. This is highly unlikely.
  5. Follow all steps of the application/qualification process and submit the application
  6. You will receive an email notifying you when your FASC status has been approved
  7. Once the new owner is active, they will remove the discounts from the previous owners account and then remove them from the FASC program.
  8. If there is a delay with the sale of the store being finalized, be sure to notify the FASC department.
  9. If the FASC account is not used within 30 business days, it will be closed for inactivity.

Setting FedEx up in your store

You have two options for processing FedEx shipments:

  1. Via FedEx Ship Manager Software (available at www.fedex.com)
  2. Via one of the recognized and supported POS shipping systems

There are 2 Point-of-Sale retail shipping systems that support the FASC program rates and rules; PostalMate, and ShipRite Software.  These 2 systems allow you to manage your markup/margin, change pricing tiers, produce “ramp-ready” shipping labels, and record drop off shipments.

Once you determine which method you’ll be using in your store, look for the FedEx setup instructions provided by the vendor.
