PressZoom) - DHL, the world's leading Express and Logistics company, is now upgrading its service between Europe and North America. Since April 10, 2007, DHL customers in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy can take advantage of DHL's new Next Day service to the USA, Canada and Mexico. With afternoon pick-up in Europe and next day delivery to all major business addresses throughout the USA, the new service means cutting transit times in half for most DHL parcels and documents heading west across the Atlantic. The enhanced service also means improvements to DHL's 2nd-day delivery, which will now get shipments from all European countries to any address in the USA before noon, as well as to Canada and Mexico by close of business.
"The US is Europe's largest single export market. The introduction of this new service which connects Europe with the US faster is another step in our continuous effort to upgrade our international network," says Thomas George, Managing Director Marketing & Sales for DHL Express Europe. "As always, it's about expanding our network in step with the market and our customers' needs - in this case providing European businesses with a valuable choice for high-speed deliveries when it comes to getting their products to the North American business centers."
In addition to speed, quality of service is central to DHL's plans. The majority of dutiable shipments are cleared prior to arrival at DHL USA gateways to ensure the quickest possible entry into the local network. Moreover, DHL has licensed customs brokers with on-site customs clearance at all USA international gateways and extensive country-by-country knowledge of current customs regulations of our in-house gateways.
European customers that have come to appreciate DHL's pick-up coverage and latest possible pick-up times will now also benefit from the $1.2 billion DHL investment in its US infrastructure. DHL's ultra-modern air hub in Wilmington, Ohio along with four strategically located gateways in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco form the core of a US-based network that has quickly established operational parity with the domestic competition over the last few years. For European businesses, it means unbeatable speed and efficiency to North America along with the value added services and international expertise that have helped make DHL Express number one in world's other major markets.
