UPS Freight notes shipping time improvement

Transit times have been reduced by one or two days from points in 11 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

The news comes after more than 8,000 lanes were improved nationwide by the company in 2007, UPS (NYSE: UPS) said.

Richmond, Va.-based UPS Freight is one of the largest less-than-truckload carriers and a leading truckload service provider in the United States with more than 215 service centers and 18,400 employees.
