UPS solidifies ties with Big Brown

United Parcel Service Inc. has bagged an exclusive marketing partnership with Kentucky Derby Champion Big Brown.

The Atlanta-based package shipping giant (NYSE: UPS) has reported a marketing agreement with jockey Kent Desormeaux and IEAH Stables, the ownership group for the horse. Desormeaux, IEAH Stables and Big Brown will sport UPS' colors during their bid to become just the 12th Triple Crown winner.

Big Brown, named after UPS' nickname, remains undefeated, having won all four of his races by a combined total of more than 33 lengths.

Big Brown's original owner is Paul Pompa Jr., owner of the Truck-Rite Corp. in Brooklyn, N.Y. After he renewed a contract with UPS Freight in 2007, he celebrated by naming his newly purchased thoroughbred Big Brown.
